I enjoy networking. There is a good chance, like me, you have attended hundreds of events over the years. Weekly breakfast referral groups, chamber of commerce events, industry-specific events, and conferences (conveniently via zoom) and more. I find networking keeps me connected to my customers and the local business community. I feel as if I am part of something.

Not all networking is equal. Sometimes you go to an event and feel unwelcomed by leadership. Perhaps you get caught talking to 2-3 people. The event feels more like a social gathering of established clicks than an opportunity to meet and learn from others. Taking 2+hrs out of your day for an event is a lot to ask and it needs to deliver.

We launched LinkedIn Local Sunshine Coast in late 2017. A FREE professional networking event. LinkedIn Local is part of a global movement to get to know the people behind the profile. For us, we wanted to create a warm, friendly, welcoming environment. Provide structured networking activities so you meet more people. PLUS focus on professional development, so every guest walks out with something new they can try tomorrow to support their business. We meet on the first Wednesday of every month at the Buderim Tavern, from 5:30 pm. You can check out our event calendar here.

In 2021, we launched a membership group - B2B Sunshine Coast. The potential of b2bsunshinecoast is super exciting. For me, B2B Sunshine Coast is to go beyond just networking. I wanted to create a hub of Sunshine Coast expertise. A proactive, collaborative group of professionals that share their expertise and experiences with other business professionals. I wanted to support this community with an interactive membership website that is easy to publish a variety of content including blogs, videos, podcasts, photos and share your own events. We then share it with over 16K social media followers and over 550 active subscribers to our fortnightly newsletter. PLUS incentivised referrals, monthly events, professional development opportunities, and reward and recognition.
